In Hong Kong, she worked with dancers from Hong Kong Ballet and taught dance students at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and with Cirque du Soleil artists while in Macau.ĭuring her time in Asia she has been heavily involved in treating clients with sporting injuries at all levels. She has worked with clients with long term pain and postural issues as well as elite athletes and professional dancers. She is passionate about exercise rehabilitation and has taught Pilates-based exercise for over 20 years. Her more recent clinical interest has been in the area of women’s health, including ante- and post- natal problems and pelvic pain disorders often presenting as hip or back pain. Rowena has a wealth of experience in private practice and is an experienced manual therapist treating all types of musculoskeletal and sporting injuries. She joined Physio Focus in 2009 when her family relocated to Singapore. She moved to Asia in 1992 and worked in a private practice in Hong Kong for 14 years, before setting up her own clinic on moving to Macau. She initially worked in large regional hospitals, in both in-patient and out-patient care, before moving to Switzerland to work in a rehabilitation centre in the Alps. Rowena became a qualified physiotherapist in UK in 1985. In her spare time Nicola volunteers with the Singapore Wheelchair Rugby team and hopes to continue to build inclusive sport and awareness of disability in Singapore. She works closely with her patients to empower them to achieve their goals in order to enhance their quality of life and return to activities pain free. Nicola’s areas of specialisation include neurological rehab (stroke, traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury), shoulder rehabilitation and injury prevention as well as vestibular rehabilitation (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, chronic dizziness and concussion management).Īfter recovering from two shoulder reconstructions herself, Nicola is able to relate to her patients through their rehab journey. Prior to joining Physio Focus, Nicola worked in both hospital and community settings and gained experience in various fields across Physiotherapy such as musculoskeletal, orthopaedics, cardiorespiratory and neurological rehabilitation. After graduation, she worked in a Spinal Injuries Unit before moving back to Singapore. Nicola graduated from Bond University in 2014 after completing undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Aaron is continually looking to share his enjoyment of exercise and well-being with his patients, so that they too can strive towards their goals or look forward to setting new goals for the future.Īaron’s post graduate education includes a Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine, Kinetic Link Training acupuncture/dry needling sport massage and more! In Aaron’s eyes, there is not one approach to injury management that suits everybody, therefore his individualised assessment and treatment plans can aid anyone on their journey to full recovery. He now plays Gaelic football with the Singapore Gaelic Lions. Since relocating to Singapore he has focussed on a balanced fitness regime developing his programme to improve not only strength but balance, core control and body awareness. For over 10 years he was a Scottish national level swimmer. He specialises in treating sports injuries, postural related neck and back pain and paediatric patients.Īaron has been a keen sports person for many years. Aaron has extensive experience in private and public healthcare in both Singapore and the UK. He has been part of the team at Physio Focus since 2016. He is a fully registered member of the AHPC in Singapore and the HCPC in the UK. Aaron qualified from Glasgow Caledonian University. ![]()
